So, I completed my first training session with Roman. Wow. What a workout. I literally felt my heart race the entire time. An hour of my heart racing to keep up. Not in an unsafe zone, just more like, wow, I haven't moved like this in quite a while. The best part was is he kept me moving enough that I didn't really focus on the clock. The hour flew by and I was a sweaty mess before it was over. Great on all counts.
The other thing I found fantastic was that he engaged my core in every single exercise. I literally felt like I had done 300 crunches by the time I left when in actuality, I'd done none, nada, zip. I did different movements than I have ever done in a gym before. I'm really fascinated by exercise science. And these people seem to understand it. The best part? I worked my legs for like 40 minutes straight and my knees didn't feel any pain. The muscles around them sure felt something, but not my knees directly. It was my biggest fear/concern.
I go again tonight. I'm nervous I won't perform as well because I'm still sore, but I'm going. I'm almost bummed because my new treadmill arrives today and I wanted to give that a whirl. I guess I'll do that tomorrow!
